Privacy by Design
Tuesday June 10, 2025 14:00 - 15:30 CEST
It's problem-solving time!

We experience a number of shared problems in privacy and decentralization. Let's explore common solutions!

This workshop prototypes a new game developed by the Decent Patterns open UX library. We present a card game with problems and design patterns, participants are asked to draw cards and develop a solution story. We team up, present back, mix and match, and iterate!

The goal is to get participants to understand that shared problems often demand shared solutions, and to get comfortable using design patterns as a way to describe these solutions.

Number of participants: 5 - 20

Brand Lab, or reverse-engineering your project’s reputation (no design skills required)
Tuesday June 10, 2025 15:40 - 17:30 CEST
▇▇ Workshop details and track record: https://nezhynska.com/brand-lab

If you experience any of the  problems below, this workshop will give you the knowledge and tools to tackle them with glory and fire:
  1. you launched your product. People visit your website but no one tries out your demo or creates an account
  2. you thought you were the only one on the market, but suddenly there are three more projects developing the same features for the same audience
  3. you have created a solution for the real world for people who don't know what DWeb is, and you cannot get their attention
  4. you want to raise money but funders say "You need to show traction and attention metrics". What to do?

As with any other complex system, the reputation of an existing project can be reverse-engineered. When combined with speculative design techniques, these reverse-engineering results can help any new company— big or small — get noticed by people and be chosen over other alternatives.

I will take participants on a hands-on tour through the process of brand engineering. Together we will be mixing brand science with DIY (design-it-yourself) fun to get to the brand hearts of their projects:
  1. what is a brand stack and how many layers should (or can) your brand include?
  2. why is onboarding users as hard as building relationships, and how can you speed-up the process?
  3. what is your brand personality, and how to use emotions as a driver for actions?
  4. how to communicate your product in a way that people want to hear more? (which has nothing with being understood!)
After attending this workshop you will be able to
  1. adjust your product reputation from “what we have” to “what we want”
  2. make your product positioning work for you not against you
  3. communicate tech features in a way that sparks curiosity and desire
  4. make your product visually stand out on the market
  5. create a brand image that wins hearts and minds of early adopters
  6. plan a seamless visual experience that embeds your product in people's memories
This workshop has already been a part of educational and mentoring programs like Devcon 7 and 6, ETHDenver Camp BUIDL, IPFS Camp, DevConnect, Regens Unite, Funding the Commons Builder Residency and Web3Summit.
