This workshop invites participants to explore political economy as a design space rather than a set of fixed ideologies, using five key variables: ownership structure, resource allocation mechanism, decision-making authority, distribution model, and relationship to global economy. By examining how different configurations of these variables create known systems like neoliberalism, ones based on commons-based approaches or even completely novel arrangements we can demystify economic systems. The workshop aims to reveal them as intentional human designs that can be reimagined and reconfigured to address contemporary challenges like inequality and ecological limits.
